Hada Labo Gokujyun Alpha is the age-care evolution of Japan's best-selling toner — a medically certified lotion combining deep hydration with visible anti-ageing benefits, from fine lines and loss of firmness to dark spots and dullness. Like all Hada Labo lotions, it's a hydrating toner used after cleansing rather than a Western-style moisturiser. Niacinamide, the star active, is clinically recognised for softening wrinkles while curbing melanin production to fade dark spots, layered with three types of hyaluronic acid for hydration at different depths, plus soothing phellodendron bark extract and meadowfoam seed oil to seal moisture in. Skin feels firmer, more hydrated and more even-toned from first use, with a slightly richer texture than the original Gokujyun. How to use: After cleansing, warm a small amount between your palms and press onto face and neck, layering for extra hydration in drier months.
